BIOGRAPHY
​
John Weiler founded Weiler & Rees and has devoted his career to the practice of tax law. Throughout his career, he represented individuals, families, businesses, and estates in complex federal, state, and local tax matters.
​
Before entering private practice, Mr. Weiler served as a Trial Attorney with the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, D.C. He later earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from George Washington University and became recognized throughout Louisiana for his work in tax litigation, tax controversy, and estate planning.
​
Mr. Weiler has served in numerous leadership roles within the legal community, including the Louisiana State Bar Association Section on Taxation and various estate planning organizations. His career reflects decades of dedication to the development and practice of tax law in Louisiana.
​
Today, Mr. Weiler enjoys retirement after helping build Weiler & Rees into one of Louisiana's established tax law firms.
